Burtilana Widening Her Borders

The final stages of a press conference within The Fist, President Burte is presenting his plans to inhabit unclaimed land in the region.
"So, in conclusion, I feel that our large island is now not large enough, and for our population to continue to grow, we must expand onto the mainland of ASP."
Strangly, Burte took no questions, instead he just walked straight off the stage, after looking at the reporters and audiance for a few seconds. He promptly left the room. The media didn't know the reason, but he was ill, and was due in hospital for an operation.
In his armoured 4x4, he got on the phone.
"Matthew, as Vice-President, you are in charge of the daily runnings during my op. As you know, Thraag is leading the exploration in the region, and leave Harvey Wells to talk to the other region members if anyone disagrees. Now the conference has been held, send that telegram to the other nations."
Matthew Sutton stood in his office, listening.
"Will do Sir, good luck in the theatre."
"I'll be out within the week Matt!"
"Just don't push yourself too much, you'll only make yourself worse..."
"I'll be fine, talk soon Matt."
Burte put the phone down, he sat slightly nervous at his op, but knew his comrades will run the country smoothly whilst he was away.

Comrades,

As you have just heard, we are planning to expand our borders. We do not wish to set a precedent for expansion within the region, so ours shall be limited and controlled. We also want to leave plenty of land for new nations to arrive in the region.
We plan to expand on the South West island, where Revolutionary Times, Shibboleths, Thexana and Grondisbald lay. We shall not be invading any nation and only plan to take 50% of our current size on the island. This leaves plenty of unclaimed land.
We hope you agree to let us do this, our expeditionary force shall leave in two weeks.

I'm sorry, but why is it Burtilana's sole privilege to expand when all nations populations are growing. May I also remind you that Burtilana is not even the largest nation in the region.

Re: Opposition

We know we are not the largest nation within the region, and we do not intend it to be our sole privilege, but our island quickly running out of space for new towns and cities. So we need to find a long term solution. We see this as that solution.

Vice-President Matthew Sutton recieves a phone call from 12 of Killerbees12.

The stoned voice of 12 rambles over the phone:

"Hey! Don't come stealing all the land Killerbees12 are using to grow
our magic plants!" then silence.. a loud noize sounding like snooring
is heard.. "rwawgh.. oh well, we can share ém if you wants them some
yoa.. ahh ye.. calli me back later maan, oks?"

To the offices of the President, Vice-President of Burtilana
From the Office of International Affairs, Chazzistan

The nation of Chazzistan would like to formally lodge its opposition to this blatant land grab by the nation of Burtilana. We will not accept the idea that an increasing population, which all nations are coping with, is justification for occupying neutral territory in this region. May I remind Burtilana that they are already enjoying larger territorial bounds than larger nations, and no other nation is dealing with an increasing population by taking land that does not belong to them.

From: VP Matthew Sutton

Taking into account your opposition, and I am sure many others oppose too, but have kept quiet, we have drawn up an early draft of a new solution. We shall go underground, living in our mountain range, and under our highlands.
I have taken this action without the presidents consent, but he is currently ill.
The expeditionary force shall not be sent, and our engineers and scientists shall begin advanced plans immediatly.


A rush press conference held at The Fist, in front of a small crowd of reporters:

Matthew walks upto the podium, clears his throat and begins to talk loudly and clearly
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I am here to make a quick statement about our expansion plans.
After opposition from the leadership of Chazzistan, we have decided against expanding our borders on to the unclaimed parts of the mainland.
Instead, I have ordered our top scientists and engineers to begin plans on our new solution, Project Mole. We plan to go underground. At present, I am unwilling to give further detail. but in the next coming weeks and months, we shall update you all."
"Mr. Vice-President..." called a reporter.
"Sorry Jenkiins, I have no time for questions today." Matthew replied, he knew these reporters well.
He walked out of the room, this plan wil prove at least four times as expensive, and would take many more years to complete.

"I'm grabbing Jesus' land first" Thought President Burte to himself.

As Jesus' hand clenched Burte's butt cheek, he thought to himself,
"Wow what a firm grip this hand has, Whose..."
He turned and saw the grinning face of Jesus,
"Oh my, what a firm grip you have," he quipped, winking.
